Classical Hybrid Programs

Forging Education also operates a growing network of classical hybrid programs designed to support homeschooling families with two structured, on-campus instructional days each week. Rooted in a classical approach, these programs emphasize core academic subjects—such as math, science, literature, writing, and history—while nurturing critical thinking, character development, and a love for learning.

Mathematics

Students at Forging Education hybrid programs develop strong, grade-level math skills that prepare them for long-term academic success. We use Saxon or Singapore (campus dependent) Math as our primary curriculum, valued for their structured approach that builds mastery and confidence at every stage.

Reading & Writing

Students at Forging Education hybrid programs grow in their love for reading and develop strong writing skills appropriate to their grade level. Our primary curriculum, Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW), equips students with the tools to think clearly, write effectively, and communicate with confidence.

Social Studies

Students at Forging Education schools explore history, geography, civics, and more—building a strong understanding of the world and how it works. Through engaging lessons, students strengthen their reading comprehension while developing curiosity, critical thinking, and a sense of place in God’s unfolding story.

Science

Forging Education hybrid programs use the Core Knowledge curriculum to build a strong foundation in scientific concepts, exploration, and discovery. Lessons are enriched with hands-on experiments and engaging activities that help students understand and enjoy the world around them.

Worldview

Students are grounded in their faith as they learn why confidence in the truth of God's Word is both reasonable and essential. Forging Education hybrid programs use curriculum from Answers in Genesis (AIG) and FWC Apologetics to equip students with a solid foundation in Biblical truth and the ability to defend their faith with clarity and confidence.

Additional Topics

Forging Education hybrid programs integrate PE, art, and music into the core curriculum. Students stay active through physical education, express creativity through hands-on art projects, and build musical understanding through rhythm, instruments, and singing.

How the Program Works

Families enrolled in our classical hybrid programs have the flexibility to choose between two options: a free, state-funded half-day program or an optional full-day paid program. The half-day option—made possible through Colorado enrichment funding—includes core subjects like math, science, and physical education and is provided at no cost to qualifying homeschool families.

For families seeking a more comprehensive experience, the full-day option adds language arts, history, Bible, and other rotating subjects to create a complete, two-day classical education model. In both formats, students attend classes on campus twice per week and complete at-home assignments on the remaining days, allowing for strong parent involvement and flexibility while benefiting from structured, Christ-centered instruction.
